Covid Initiatives
Covid Annadaan
The Covid-19 pandemic blind-sided the world in early 2020 and within India, Pune was in fact one of the first cities to have been affected in early March 2020 itself. Apart from the medical crisis, the ensuing lockdown across the country also resulted in a food crisis especially amongst migrant labourers as well as daily wagers who had lost their source of income due to the unprecedented lockdown.
Mudita has worked along side many other NGOs to provide bags of dry rations for families in need, covering both Pune city as well as villages in the surrounding areas. Beginning from April 2020, Mudita partnered with various on-ground NGOs and educational institutions and has supported over 2,50,000 meals.
Covid Medical Support
During the second wave of the pandemic, hospitals and covid care centres were unable to keep up with basic medical supplies. Mudita supported covid-care-centres in semi-urban areas around Pune with supplies of masks, santizers, gloves & oxymeters for around 500 patients.
